This female executive had decided in this post 911 era, to drive back to her Chicago home from a conference in Vegas. She'd picked up a few gifts for family & friends, but the last thing she'd gotten as she was leaving Vegas was a couple of bottles of really good wine as a gift for her husband. As the miles rolled by, she was getting a bit lonesome, so when she saw an old Navaho woman walking along the side of the road. She stopped & asked if she wanted a lift, hoping for a bit of conversation.
The old woman climbed in & thanked her, then sat quietly, looking at the inside of the car. Finally she noticed the bag on the rear seat and asked, "what you got in the bag?" "A couple of bottles of really good wine, " the executive replied with a smile, "I got them for my husband.
" The old native woman sat in silence for a long moment, before she replied, "good trade." |
